Sailors on the tall ships faced the possibilty of death nearly every day whereas they came up with a simple philosophy – HOLD FAST. It even became a popular tattoo, one letter on each finger to remind them in the rigging, through a storm, under the cannon’s fire – HOLD FAST. We can all appreciate this at one time or another when our own lives threaten to come apart at the seams – HOLD FAST
